Mechanism & Biological Context
Kisspeptin activates KISS1R on hypothalamic GnRH neurons, increasing GnRH signaling and downstream luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone. Responses depend on molecule, exposure pattern, sex, menstrual phase, and endocrine state. Sustained agonism may cause desensitization rather than continued stimulation.
A plausible pathway is not the same as a demonstrated clinical outcome. Mechanistic, animal, and human findings are labeled separately.
Human Evidence
Controlled human studies show acute reproductive-hormone responses in men and women. Trials have also examined women and men with hypoactive sexual desire disorder, and recent research has explored intranasal delivery. These studies do not establish a consumer fertility, libido, or testosterone protocol.
Male & Female Research
This compound receives separate female and male pathways. Female content covers cycle phase, ovulation, hypothalamic amenorrhea, fertility research, and HSDD studies. Male content covers LH/testosterone signaling, fertility, HSDD research, and the risk that sustained agonism can suppress the axis through desensitization.
What Is Not Established
It is not a simple “female fertility” or “male testosterone” peptide. The effects of acute versus continuous exposure differ; pregnancy, breastfeeding, hormone-sensitive conditions, fertility treatment, and endocrine disorders require specialist medical oversight.
